And no, not everyone. There's several kingdoms, and each one has a princess in charge. Each one of us has a stone that gives us our magic, and then there's one more runestone for Bright Moon's Queen. The other kingdoms all answer to her.
The old She-Ra has been gone a thousand years. I had a teacher at first, but she wasn't a good person.
But it's okay. I've pretty much figured it out by now. I don't wanna brag, but I kinda saved the universe before coming here. So I think it'll be okay for me to take learning the rest at my own pace, y'know?
[ Which leads her to the now, some eighteen minutes later, face practically pressed against one window as she peers inside, scrutinizing the little robots that whirr to and fro in.....are those maid outfits?
She only pulls away when she notices a familiar figure walking down the street. ]
[Adora's there, strolling down the street, arriving exactly on time. And when she spots her friend, she picks up the pace a bit, trotting up and reaching for her hand. Just, for a squeeze, like saying hey you without words.]
[ She means it. As embarrassing as their first meeting might have been, Annette genuinely likes Adora. It'll be nice, she thinks, to get to know the other girl better. ]
Let's head inside. I've never been here before, so I don't know what's best to get.
[ How chivalrous. The action brings a laugh to her face, and she twirls in with as much grace as a fairy-tale princess—or tries to, before she trips over the door frame.
It's fine, it's fine, she makes it to a free table and seats herself, handing over a menu when Adora also takes her seat. ]
What kind of drinks do you like? Sweet ones or sour?
[ The menu goes entirely forgotten as Annette gazes at Adora, mouth hanging open just a little. To not have been able to enjoy even something as simple as tea until recently.... ]
Then we'll have to make sure you get to try everything you want while you're here! [ wait, she remembers this island is kind of a desolate wasteland and amends her words: ] Well, as much as we can.
[ Yes, yes, they're supposed to be learning about each other but they can multi-task! ]
Oh. Uh. At home my situation's super different now. I don't live where I grew up anymore. And I'm friends with the Queen so I have all the tea I can drink.
[She laughs, reaching out to squeeze Annette's hand real quick.]
But if you have recommendations, I'll try them all.
[ Adora doesn't seem bothered by her home life anymore, and if she's not then Annette certainly won't be either. She nods solemnly, squeezing Adora's hand back, before propping up a menu to peer through it. ]
Well, what do you like best? Salty? Sweet? Bitter? Whatever you want, I'll get it for you!
[ Because that's what she does with and for her friends. ]
Something sweet but also a little sour….oooh, how about some lemonade!
[ She has no idea if Adora's ever had it before, but it sounds right up her alley. ]
You know, as weird as this place is, not everything is bad here. We had a lot of different options to choose from back home, but there's so much more to try here! [ Her enthusiasm is genuine, the delight in her voice echoing through the cafe. ] If we ever make it hope, I hope I can bring back some of the recipes here.
[Thanks fam. She needs to be exposed to life's pleasures.
She nods right along with Annette, start to finish. Her enthusiasm is catching, because yeah, there are a lot of nice foods here she's totally bringing back with her.
