[ Unconsciously, she lowers her menu, gaze drifting to some place distant for a moment. ]

It's cold. It feels like it's always winter there. All the fiefdoms look the same, just grey stone against a snow-covered forest.

[ She laughs a little, fond despite the less than complimentary words, eyes clearing again as she looks up at Adora. ]

But it's still my home. I miss it, a little bit.

Sounds...like the Kingdom of Frost, at home.

[Adora smiles gently, almost wistfully, and reaches a hand out to touch her friend's shoulder. Just a touch, a quick squeeze.]

...you'll get home eventually. I promise you that.

[ The squeeze is comforting, and not for the first time Annette is truly glad to have met so many kind and generous people here on the island. ]

I know. There are so many smart people here that I'm sure we'll figure something out.
